About Almohad Caliphate
A Berber movement founded by the religious reformer Ibn Tumart and led to empire by Abd al-Mumin. It ruled the Maghreb and Muslim Spain from Marrakesh. Philosophers such as Averroes worked under its patronage. Defeat by Christian kingdoms at Las Navas de Tolosa in 1212 began its decline.
