About Angevin Empire
A modern name for the lands of the Plantagenet kings stretching from the Scottish border to the Pyrenees. Henry II inherited Anjou and Normandy and gained Aquitaine through his marriage to Eleanor. His sons Richard I and John held it in turn. Philip II of France conquered Normandy, and defeat at Bouvines in 1214 ended it.
