About Hunnic Empire

A nomadic empire whose arrival in Europe pushed Gothic peoples into the Roman Empire. Under Attila the Huns extracted huge payments of gold from Constantinople and invaded Gaul and Italy. A Roman and Visigothic army checked Attila at the Catalaunian Plains in 451. The empire collapsed soon after his death in 453.
