The largest empire in pre-Columbian America. Built 40,000 km of roads through the Andes. Never invented writing, used knotted quipu cords for records. Machu Picchu was likely a royal estate. Francisco Pizarro conquered it with 168 men by capturing the emperor Atahualpa. The Inca had no concept of money and ran a command economy.
