About Jin Dynasty (1115-1234)
An empire founded by the Jurchen people of Manchuria. It destroyed the Liao and in 1127 captured the Song capital Kaifeng, forcing the Song court to flee south. The Jin ruled northern China for over a century. Mongol invasions under Genghis Khan and his successor Ogedei destroyed it in 1234.
