About Kingdom of Kush
An ancient kingdom in Nubia along the Nile. Its kings conquered Egypt and ruled as the 25th Dynasty in the 8th and 7th centuries BC. After the Assyrians drove them out, the Kushites ruled from Napata and later Meroe, where they built more pyramids than ancient Egypt. Meroe was also a major center of iron production.
