About Palmyrene Empire

A breakaway state from the Roman Empire led by Queen Zenobia of Palmyra on behalf of her son Vaballathus. Her forces seized Egypt and much of Anatolia. Emperor Aurelian defeated her armies and captured her in 272. Palmyra rebelled again and was sacked in 273. Zenobia became a legendary figure of female leadership.
