About Rashidun Caliphate
The first caliphate, ruled by four successors of the Prophet Muhammad. In a few decades Arab armies defeated the Byzantines at Yarmouk and conquered the Sasanian Persian Empire. Caliph Umar organized the administration of the new territories. Civil war followed the killing of Uthman, and the era ended with the death of Ali in 661.
