About Seleucid Empire

The largest of the Hellenistic kingdoms formed after Alexander the Great died. At its height it stretched from the Aegean to the borders of India. Greek cities such as Antioch and Seleucia spread Hellenistic culture. It steadily lost territory to the Parthians and the Maccabean revolt, and Pompey ended it in 63 BC.
