Sui Dynasty
About Sui Dynasty
Reunified China after nearly three centuries of division. The Sui built the Grand Canal linking the Yellow and Yangtze rivers and restored a centralized bureaucracy. Costly failed campaigns against the Korean kingdom of Goguryeo exhausted the state. Rebellion ended the short dynasty, but its institutions laid the foundation for the Tang.
