About Zhou Dynasty
The longest lasting dynasty in Chinese history. The Zhou justified overthrowing the Shang with the Mandate of Heaven, an idea that shaped Chinese politics for millennia. Royal authority weakened in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. Confucius, Laozi, and other great thinkers lived in this era.
