About Delhi Sultanate
A series of five dynasties ruling from Delhi over much of the Indian subcontinent. It repelled several Mongol invasions. Monuments such as the Qutb Minar date from this era. Sultan Muhammad bin Tughluq famously moved the capital to Daulatabad and back. Babur defeated the last sultan at Panipat in 1526, founding the Mughal Empire.
