About Uyghur Khaganate
A Turkic empire on the Mongolian steppe that replaced the Second Turkic Khaganate. The Uyghurs helped the Tang dynasty suppress the An Lushan rebellion and grew rich from the horse and silk trade. Its ruler adopted Manichaeism as the state religion. The Yenisei Kyrgyz destroyed the capital Ordu-Baliq in 840.
