About Kingdom of Zimbabwe

Built Great Zimbabwe, the largest stone structure in sub-Saharan Africa. The walls stand 11 meters high, built without mortar. Traded gold, ivory, and copper with Swahili coast merchants. The name Zimbabwe means houses of stone. Abandoned around 1450, possibly due to overgrazing and drought.
